4) What really stresses you out, and how to do take care of yourself when you’re in the midst of *waves at all that*.
The short list: EVERYTHING! LOL
Making decisions, stresses me out. Not doing the things I want and that make me happy, stresses me out. Not having the money to take ALL the classes I want, stresses me out. Not having money period. Feeling insecure. The uncertainty of not knowing yet whether we will have to move or not, and if we have to move where will we go…BIG STRESS for all of us.
There are so many things that stress me. Some make me want to retreat into hiding in a blanket fort and never come out. Some make me want to indulge on Cherry Pepsi and Sour Cream and Onion Pringles. Others make me want to inhale chocolate. And some make me just want to veg out on the sofa and binge watch Grey’s Anatomy, Call the Midwife, or Downton Abbey on Netflix. Those days I bring the soda and chips along for good measure.
Then there are the blue days, where all I want are my comfort foods no matter what the temperature is outside. Like a can of cream of mushroom soup, or a pot of Lipton’s Extra Noodle or some Chicken A La King (frozen or canned, I’m not picky).
So I guess the bottom line is when I’m stressed my go to’s are usually junk food and tv shows. And I’m okay with that.

Our younger son heads back off to uni with 2 chronic conditions in 2 weeks and I am hoping that I can refrain from the stress eating.

As mothers, I think we worry and stress about out children no matter what. Wishing your son well. And you too ❤

I really relate to this! I have favorite shows (and movies) that I call my “comfort” shows, and I return to them again and again in times of stress and needing comfort. And certain foods give me comfort too. (and usually those foods are not things that would be considered “healthy” for me, but sometimes that’s just what I need!)

Pringles, Chocolate, and soda probably not my wisest choices especially when I keep trying to cut back on the carbonated sugary drinks. When I use my will power, then it’s a nice mug or several of Earl Grey or Orange Spice tea (and oreos 😀 )
As you said, though, maybe not the healthiest, but it’s what you need at the time.

I can relate! To everything. Netflix is my fix too. 🙂
