Today Is Hard

I’m trying to keep it together today.

I’m trying not to cry.

A year ago today, I lost my sweet fur baby. She died in my arms as we tried to rush her to the vet. We didn’t make it out of the driveway.

She chose me, I don’t know why.  I miss the joy I got when I would see how happy she was to see me first thing in the morning.  She was constantly by my side.  She was coming to me when it happened. The thing I don’t talk about. The thing that reminds me everyday why she’s not here.

She chose me from the moment she first opened her eyes.  Her  good morning mews we the sweetest thing.  I miss her snuggling on my shoulder, burying her face in my hair as she softly purred in my ear.

Today just hurts……..A LOT.  I didn’t even want to get out of bed.  I would be content to bury myself in the blankets and Netflix the day away. But I can’t.  Because you know, I am supposed to be ‘over it’.
