It’s Been A Hot Minute

Whoops! Almost a month since I posted.  Didn’t mean for that to happen.

Since my last post, I have been failing at doing 50 by 50.
There’s like 40 days until my birthday.
If I try hard enough, I can probably make it.
I know I could.  It’s not undoable.

Part of my failure at it is Ye Olde Guilt.
Guilt for wanting to do it.
Guilt for wanting to make art.
Guilt in general.
Guilt for saying I wanted to do it and who do I think I am for wanting such a thing.
Ye Olde Impostor Syndrome.
The usual bullshit that rears its ugly head to freeze me in my tracks and get me doing
absolutely nothing.

There was a week and a half in there were I was struck by a case of the dizzies.
Came up out of the blue. The first day was awful!!  Nausea, some vomiting. World was
spinning.  Tried taking Dramamine, it helped a little at least with the nausea.  Picked up
some Ginkgo, I don’t know if it has helped or not. It’s supposed to help with brain fog too, but I have yet to see an improvement there.  At least the dizziness had gone away.  I’d be very happy if it never came back again. We first thought it was vertigo and was being caused by the crystals in the inner ear, but after a good bit of me researching I don’t think that was it.  I think I might have developed spurs in my neck now, which as far as I have found can cause dizziness.  And it feels like it might be something like that.

Even though I haven’t been actively painting, I have been thinking about what exactly I want to do.  I’ve also been thinking a lot about  writing.   NaNoWriMo is coming in November.  They’ve revamped their website. Things are still buggy, but it’s better than it was a week ago.  I want to start prepping for it.  Less pantstering, more planning and plotting. Trying to decide if it worth using my ancient laptop for.  It still functions, just slow as shit and still runs on XP.

I am attempting to bullet journal again.  But I am trying to work into it the planning and plotting and prepping for NaNo.  I’m keeping it super basic right now, just to get into it as a habit.

Fall is trying to make her stand in my neck of the woods.  We’ve had some lower temps, 70s mostly.  I don’t think we’ll make it out of the 60s today.  It’s cloudy and rainy and chilly. Sweatshirt weather is almost here!

I am honored to have been nominated for The Sunshine Blogger award by Artful Pursuits. I will be addressing the following questions (which were her questions to the nominees) in the next post:
