Day 7 – Brain Dump!

TODAY’S NUDGE: Dump Your Mental & Emotional Purse all over the table that is your blog. Don’t sort it. Don’t apologize for any of it. Just take an inventory, in list form, and let the old tissues & twenty year old mints fall where they may.

I shit you not, I went to bed last night thinking I need to make a brain dump post.  I got all this crap floating in my head, it’s making me feel foggy and jumbled.  Like I can’t form coherent sentences.  Then I get up this morning, sit down with my coffee, open up my email and BAM!  what’s Effy got.  This, a Purse Dump prompt!  So now, to form words for a post.  It’s a little like Harry Potter when he was trying to catch that key in that scene from Socerer’s Stone.

Okay, then.  Let’s dump, shall we?

  • Boundaries: Why do people think that is okay not to respect them?  That saying this is my boundary line, I don’t like this or what have you, and they act all Challenge Accepted and push the envelope until you want to scream and pull your hair out, or you just give up on doing that thing you were trying to do or working on.
  • I fall on and off the creativity wagon way too much. The guilt it brings me, UGH! The lovely Chris Zydel had a really good Facebook post about that today.
  • I am worried about friends and family that are in Irma’s potential path.
  • I’ve been procrastinating on working more on my Rise Above butterfly painting. (see item 1)
  • I’m frustrated at being stuck in the house.  The air quality is in the Red Zone, has been for days.  Some areas are Purple which is hazardous.  Going outside on the porch is hard to breathe.  My room smells like we have a campfire going in it.  It’s getting so bad am actually considering using my Beloved’s inhaler.  (I don’t do inhalers!  They freak me out.  I actually go into a panic attack if I need to use it.) He’s using it at least 4 times a day minimum!
  • We’re all stressed on if we’ll have to move or not.  His parents are attempting to buy the house we all live in.  If things go wonky, and we don’t get it, we have no idea where we will move to and it will not be good for his Granny.  She’s 96 going on 97 and has dementia with good days and bad.  She has some memory problems, but she knows who we all are and that sort of thing.   Her doctor called it White Line Dementia. He, my Beloved, is her caregiver.  If we were to have to move, we don’t believe it will go well for her mentally.  So we are hoping with all we got that things go smoothly and we get to stay here.
  • I’m excited for the Fall TV season to start.  I need to know what happens on Chicago Fire, who survives!  And Droughtlander is almost over, 3 more days until Outlander begins again.  I miss Game of Thrones already, it’s going to be a LOOOOOONG wait!

There’s more, I’m sure of it.  But these are the thoughts that I could put together.  I know there are still some things and lint balls stuck in the corner of my bag. Having this foggy brain nonsense is frustrating.  Not being able focus is the pits!

I so relate to what you wrote. I’m worried about friends and family in Irma too and oh that smoke. We had it last year and it sucked. Glad you could get it all out and hope you feel better.

Thank you Jean! This is the worst we have had the smoke in the 6 years I have been here. Even with the Soda Fire of 2015 or the Pioneer Fire last year, it wasn’t this bad but we did have the ash. Today my bedroom smells like campfire.
But I do feel a little better dumping it all out.

Girl. Use it if you need to. I know that we arent supposed to use others medicines. But my husband has to use mine from time to time. I dont like them either. Makes me all jittery! Sending love. Ive had asthma since i was 13 and i live in mobile and understand about finally getting a pretty day and wham cant go outside due to air quality. All the feels there!
Try also drinking a cola. The caffiene helps open your lungs!

Ack! I didn’t realize you were so close to the fire. We had one here a while back, not *nearly* as nuts as that one, and my throat felt like the fire was actually inside of it.

I hope it clears up soon. And that you are able to keep the house!

The Soda Fire we could actually see it from our back door. The line of fire glow in the distance was both beautiful and scary. The Pioneer Fire last year we could see the smoke from the mountains out the front door. While this year we don’t see the glow of flames or plumes of smoke, the air is just filled with it.
We hope it clears up soon too. I heard Medford had some rain today, but after it passed the smoke was back and the smell was worse. 😦

Gosh that’s an awful situation with the smoke and being shut in your home. I hope it relents soon and you get to keep the house you live in. Don’t be so hard on yourself with the guilt. It doesn’t help anything. We are all too good for that.

All I did today was step out the door to pick a couple of tomatoes and was all “Nope, back inside.” I miss looking out the window and seeing the mountains in the distance. You can’t really see passed about a 1/2 mile maybe a mile when looking out the window. It hangs over the fields like a curtain.
I will try to do better about the guilt and being hard on myself, old habits die hard though 😦
      Thank you Mary.

I love the synchronicity of you thinking about a ‘brain dump post’, then being invited to write one!

Blessings on being so close to the fire! I just got an inhaler in the last few weeks. I love being able to breathe! For that alone, I invite you to use it to give yourself some relief.

I’m glad you shared! I’m meeting it all with love and sending good energy so that you feel some clarity and peace in it all as it unfolds.

Falling of the creativity wagon and procrastinating. Yes and yes.

I really wish you a clearing of fog of all kinds – the smoky kind and the mind kind! I now what its like to move through time with a head so full of stuff its like wading through treacle. I’m exhausted today, so my metaphors are getting terribly lazy.
